How Meaningful Lyrics in Music Can Make a Change

How artists could change the world by writing more meaningful lyrics — and what we can do about it

Music holds an incredible power that nothing in this world can replicate.

For centuries it has been used in cultural ceremonies, celebrations, rituals, cave parties, and for bonding, inspiring, entertaining and healing among the never-ending list of its various uses.

It has always been important for societies worldwide and it continues to be that despite its usage has changed.

I am writing this article in hopes to change the communication in our mainstream music. In hopes to change the world.

The transforming power of music

The incredible power that it holds and just some of the various ways we could use it to change the world for the better.

Music can store memories

“Music does a lot of things for a lot of people. It’s transporting, for sure. It can take you right back, years back, to the very moment certain things happened in your life. It’s uplifting, it’s encouraging, it’s strengthening.”

Think about the songs you listened to last summer or the songs you used to treat your ears to in your early years, perhaps in your childhood.

Perhaps you can recall the very situation where you listened to that song. Maybe, you’re able to relive moments that you didn’t even remember you remember. You might recall what senses were you experiencing in that particular moment — how was the dinner you enjoyed with your first love in the restaurant where this song was playing, what did the gentle touch of your mother feel on your forehead when she sang you your favorite lullaby or how did that comforting tune, that you heard on the radio on the worst day of your life, make you feel.

You might even remember how you danced to that song when you’ve long ago forgotten how to move your legs. Research suggests that music can help with memory…
